I immediately donated $10. I hope she is able to get the transplant. Regardless of if I know her or not, I would hope that someone, anyone, would be kind & generous enough to give what they could to help me out if I were in that position.

It’s going to be tough. This was how she explained it:
“Due to my other birth defect, which is a concave chest, I will need a
very small heart from a donor who is 4-5 feet tall. So, although that is
rare it means that since I’m the sickest for that size, I’m first in
line for that heart in region 8. They are hoping to get me heart
sooner then they normal wait times. I still don’t know what time frame
but i heard it could be 2-6 months. The best part is as of now I do
not have multi list and I can stay in NYC.”
The last part is great news, because up until now she has had to go to Boston for treatment.

My name is Michelle Vargas, I’m a blogger/vlogger and I just found out that my very good friend needs a heart transplant.
About my friend:
Samantha is a very young single mother of one. I have been extremely fortunate to have her in my life. She is a truly extraordinary human being. I intend to share various stories about her here, but for now…
Sam is THE KINDEST person that I have ever met in my entire life. The way that she puts others before herself is truly amazing (sometimes baffling :) )
She has a very rare heart condition. I wish I could remember the exact name/details right now. I’ll post more on that later. She has been through countless surgeries and hospital stays, and now the time has come when she will need a transplant in order to survive.
She can’t work and has no immediate family close by to help. Her monthly expenses are quite high, not to mention debt and old medical bills. I intend to help her in every way that I can (shopping, childcare, any money I can spare) and I’m really counting on getting help from my wonderful friends/acquaintances online.
ANY donation would be appreciated and so helpful. If you can’t spare anything, simply tweeting/blogging/posting a link to this page on facebook (or anywhere!) would be FANTASTIC.
Samantha is an exceptional woman/mother/friend and she really deserves all the help the world can offer.
